Intersections of finance and society 2019
4th annual conference of the Finance and Society Network (FSN)
12-13 December 2019 at City, University of London, UK
Call for papers available here
Organised by Amin Samman and Martijn Konings, in association with Finance and Society, the City Political Economy Research Centre (CITYPERC), and the Department of Political Economy at the University of Sydney.
Building on the success of our previous conferences, the 4th annual Finance and Society Network (FSN) conference aims to foster further dialogue between the diverse camps that make up the new field of ‘finance and society’ studies. In particular, it seeks to identify new synergies between heterodox political economy and various sociological, historical, and philosophical perspectives on the intersections of finance and society. Contributions are also encouraged from the fringes of conventional academia, with visual, performance art, and activist or practitioner perspectives welcome.
As in previous years, the organisers are looking forward to receiving innovative paper and panel abstracts from across the full spectrum of ‘finance and society’ studies and beyond. The application deadline is 1 August 2019. Further guidelines and a more detailed list of proposed topics are outlined in the call for papers.
Amin Samman is Senior Lecturer in International Political Economy at City, University of London. He is co-founder and editor of the open-access journal, Finance and Society, as well co-founder and chair of the Finance and Society Network (FSN).
